Netflix and Aardman Productions have released the trailer for the long awaited stop-motion animation “Robin Robin”. The Christmas-themed story is the first musical show that the company has created. It was originally scheduled for a Christmas 2020 release but, well, you know… Covid ‘n all that… The film is now scheduled to release on November 24th in time for Christmas. Described as a mixture between The Ugly Duckling and Oliver Twist, the film will tell the story of a robin that is raised by mice who eventually realised her differences to discover who she really is.
The half hour film will have a very different visual style with the animators ditching their famous plasticine and, instead, relying on felt covered models that use natural materials like twigs and feathers. It also features the voice talents of Gillian Anderson, Richard E Grant, Bronte Carmichael and Adeel Akhtar.
When her egg fortuitously rolls into a rubbish dump, Robin is raised by a loving family of mice. As she grows up, her differences become more apparent. Robin sets off on the heist to end all heists to prove to her family that she can be a really good mouse – but ends up discovering who she really is.
So, who are the characters? let’s find out below:
The eldest of the mice children, with a self-assured swagger he takes his job of being the big brother very seriously and is quick to put the others in their place – even though he’s only fractionally older.
